I have a 42 year old house with a leak in the tile basement bathroom. It is leaking from the ceiling (tile in overhead) in the shower. You can't see any of the pipes(all enclosed) but when I run water in the upstair bath (over this one)or the dishwasher in kitchen which drains through pipes here to go to septic tank, I have water dripping in the shower below. I am going to try to take out some tile and see what going on. I have some mold and damage in the bathroom from the water leak, should I call my insurance co. before I do anything? I don't go down to the basement very often so it has leaked for a while. I have never worked with tile How do I remove tile? I know that is a dumb question, but I live alone and have to do it myself.
